Brief 14: Eve McBennett Branding

Development

Initial ideas for the logo for this brief came from the fact that Eves fashion is all made from tactile fabric and wool. Wool was used throughout her things as was one of the main aspects for me to look into.

I firstly started by looking into different typeface i could use that reflected Eves clothing, although her stuff is tactile it is also very contemporary so i wanted a typeface that reflected this.

I felt the sans serif was too boring and a lot of fashion brands have used this simple typeface before, it also doesn't have much to it in terms of an elegance, like the serif above.

I really like the serif above, it is slightly more bold as well so stands out more than others i have looked at

After selecting the typeface i started to kern it a bit so it looked like the spacing was strong and consistent throughout

I then started to develop a logo that represented something to do with wool, and looked a bit more tactile, maybe looking into how wool is woven together, like a knit pattern

This is how I started looking into knit patterns but i think it was far too complicated and too much was going on, so i started to make it a lot more simple and less complicated
