Brief 14: Eve McBennett Branding

Research / Development

For this brief i firstly started to do some research into different fashion brands and also Eves own clothing to get a better understanding of it. Eve kindly gave me images from her portfolio and sketchbook pages she had already completed.

After the seeing those sketchbook pages it was clear already to see what kind of designer she was, again like she said there is a lot of kit used throughout and the colour black almost everywhere. The work is in a lot of grids formed buy the knit most of the time and so this creates a kind of wavy grid pattern which is something to look into

I really like the knit panel on the front of this jacket, it is a bit like the grid logo i made but its a lot less ridged and more free flowing

I then started to look into different fashion brands so i could see who they have used colour and created both a logotype and a standard logo.

Above: I really like how this logo has been formed with just a few simple shapes it creates something that is memorable and also stands out from other fashion clothing brands

I really like how this simple type has been used for this fashion branding, making it contemporary it also works across other branded elements such as the website

This fashion brand was good too look at because Eves things are all black and it is a colour that i will most likely be using a lot with her branding, type has been turned to white so it stands off the black paper and different shades of back have been used to mix up the textures and look of the overall brand. Looking at this there are certain things i can look at , such as having clothes tags, a portfolio book, coat hangers, bags.
