Brief 2:OUGD603 Brief - Package a new range of organic Jams

Further Research

I really like the hand drawn illustrations on these bags and bottles, i think they work well with organic products and i should decide if i am going to draw or vectorise my images

The aesthetic of the images above is of rustic, organic packaging that would attract the sort of audience who are intersted in the environment and live are part of the demographic i am aiming my jams at.

I really like the logo of this Gimsel it also has strong vector illustrations that work well. Also incorporating colour in the work is strong and it something i will do with my different jams.

After doing research i started to come up with some ideas.

Things i was thinking about were the stock choice and how that will work in creating a organic looking product. I think the product should be reused and have other purposes, such as maybe the sleeve has ideas for jams on the back or the recipe and how to make them. Also having a interesting bottle shape could lead to the person wanting to keep the product and again reuse it.

I was also thinking about the shapes and different logos that could be created

I had an idea of making 6 flavours of jams and using a hexagon for the logo but i thought that this would then make people think of honey and not jam and also it has been done a lot.

An example of how i would have used the shapes above.
As can be seen the pattern although is good its used a lot.

I then thought about other shapes i could use and who they might create a pattern, such as the triangle above. I thought this could then be applied across to the packaging or the top of the jam jar.

This triangle could then be used as a logo.

These were just some quick ideas that i came up with but i don't think they were that well and need a lot of refining. I like the idea of a shape that can be applied across the packaging as a shape but at the moment it doesn't work that well.
