Brief 10 YCN Whistles

The Brief

After choosing this brief i decided to go into a little more depth into the brief to see what they were really asking for.

Considerations from the brief

From reading the brief i have highlighted and picked out what i think are the most important aspects such as that they are considered to be modern and contemporary with effortless style. It is basic that bridge the gap from high-street and designer divide, there designs are elegant and relaxed. There marketing strategies are bespoke and high end.

Something else i picked up on was that they offered an exceptional service and there website presence mirrors there stores: clean, effortless and relevant. So i think the scent should mirror the website and stores.

There packaging is beautiful, luxurious and considered.

They are looking for ideas of the scent , how it would be packaged and how i would bring the product to the market via PR and marketing campaigns.

Target audience

What they say

Both male and female costumers of whistles and there original market of costumers and also attract a new customer to the brand.

What i think

I think it is important to attract both male and female customers but the people will be excepting high quality, high end product, looking at there website and seeing there prices it will be an expensive scent/perfume so the people buying it will have to be well off, or buying it as a present

I think i need to think about how people will interact with the product and how it will be excellent customer service, also looking at the shop and website to see if i can cater the look of the bottle to these places.

Key words from the brief

Effortless

Confident

Independent

Modern

Contemporary

From this i generated some ideas using the words

I played on the fact that Whistles was a simple brand in terms of they have clothes which are made contemporary with little fuss and no big fashion statements. Using the word simply i and the words that are given in the brief i created these short sentences that could be used in a campaign or advertising for the new scent.

I started with simply the best and then went from there, with simply the best being the over arching theme of the slogans, it also being something that describes there company as being simple, but also the best.

After creating these i felt that they will come in handy later on in the brief for when i put together the advertisement campaign and so i have decided to move on to creating the sleeve and the aesthetic of the scent.
